Deputy Mayor, Goran Vesić visited today the geological exploration works for the project of the first line of the Belgrade metro, which are currently, among other things, being performed at the location of Trebevićka Street on Banovo brdo. Together with him, the assistant of the Mayor, Andreja Mladenović, the city secretary for public transport Jovica Vasiljević and the director of JKP “Belgrade Metro and Train” Stanko Kantar visited this important research site.
Vesić specified that these are the final works in order to start the construction of the subway in November.Geological research is being done extensively, we have a total of about 123 wells in the city. So far, we have completed ninety percent of the wells, and about 50 percent have been processed by laboratory. The drills here are at 45 meters, because that will be the depth of the subway in this part of the city. That will be the average depth of the subway in the city, and somewhere it will be lower, like in Dorćol, where it will be approximately 19 meters – said Vesić.
